This is a short documentary/promotional film that I created for a non-profit called Home Repair Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The goal of the film was to highlight the positive reciprocal exchange that takes place between staff and clients at this organization.

This is one episode of a cooking show called Hey Mom! I Can't Cook! that I worked on as part of a class production over the course of one semester. During the semester students rotated throughout all of the various production positions, and so at different times I was director, camera operator, switcher, floor manager, package editor, etc. The show is aimed at college students that are looking for a fun and easy way to improve their cooking skills. To do this, as a class we hired a student improv comedian to act as the host on the show, and then we invited a parent and their son or daughter to come on the show and demonstrate how to cook some kind of meal. In total we produced 13 episodes. To see all of these episodes, visit Hey Mom? I Can't Cook!

This is a student film, called "This is Just To Say," that I worked on with one other student, and together with some extra hands along the way we wrote, directed, filmed, edited, and produced what you see now. The filming was unique because we were working in a small space and wanted to create long shots that complimented the tone of the story. As a result, I constructed a small counterbalance for the digital camera that we were using, which allowed me to film the scenes handheld and move around for some long shots in the space. I hope you enjoy.
